P7260933tToo bad we didn’t have much time to explore other notable places in Batangas during out Pilgrimage tour but of all the places we have been, I find the Taal Batangas more fascinating especially when we arrived to the famous Taal Heritage town. Our next destination after the Our Lady of Mount Carmel monastery is the largest Catholic church in Asia, the Basilica of Saint Martin De Tours.

P7260934tWe didn’t get the chance to explore the entire heritage town but I was able to capture some ancestral houses along the way. Taal is famous for its old ancestral houses, the poblacion was declared a heritage town designated as a National Historical Landmark. It feels like you are taken back in time.
P7260935It’s also nice to see how people managed to keep these houses in great shape and condition. Taal Batangas, by the way is also known as the Balisong (butterfly knife) and Barong Tagalog (country’s national dress for man) capital of the Philippines. We saw a lot of stores selling balisong along the way.
P7260936Taal offers a lot of places to explore and I wouldn’t mind visiting this historical town again!
